There have been recent technological advances in the gypsum cement underlayment market that raises the bar on what you, the customer, should expect from a gypsum cement underlayment product. As a customer, you should no longer live with gypsum products that rate less than 2000 PSI. Manufacturers are now providing gypsum cement underlayments with PSI ratings from 2500 to 4500 pounds.

These products will last longer and will have less tendancy to crumble under years of traffic under hard finished floors like ceramic and vinyl tile.

Gypsum Cement Underlayment - 2500 PSI

Although this is the base product we install, the family of gypsum cement underlayments in this strength is far superior to the other base products previously offered. Customers can expect a long lasting underlayment that is geared toward sound and fireproofing in multi-family and light commercial construction. This product works best when installed over wood.

Typical Uses: Apartments, Condominiums, Townhouses, Hotels and Motels

Gypsum Cement Underlayment - 3500 PSI

Gypsum cement products in this strength are ideal for use as a hard surface upgrade in multi-family projects and as a topping to correct uneven floors in a commercial application. These products offer excellent performance for high-traffic area and can be used in wood-frame construction.

Gypsum Cement Underlayments - 4500 PSI

Radiant Heat Gyspum Underlayments - 3000 PSI

This product is specifically designed for use over radiant tubes. May be used with radiant floor heating systems up to 150 degrees F.

Sound Dampening Mat Systems

The greatest problem facing multi-family construction is unwanted sound transmission. Enkasonic matting is a solution that's been reducing sound transmissionin floors since 1982. Durex installs the Enkasonic matting before the gypsum cement is poured; creating a sound-dampening wafer that reduces sound by 5-% over rubber pads and polymer sheets.
